Nervous System Nourishment Retreat Weekends
Friday 5th - Sunday 7th July 2024
Friday 4th - Sunday 6th October 2024
£200
In a warm indoor space by the beach, overlooking woodland, and some outdoor activities, in canford cliffs, dorset.
Both a small group experience (maximum 5 people) with one to one connection and guidance. Lots of care goes into ensuring this is a well-held environment, for you to feel safe and at ease in.
Come and ground in to nature, move in a way that feels good, expand into sunshine, sea and big sky, and give your nervous system some nourishment!
The weekends will run from Friday evening, all day on Saturday, and then a 1:1 somatic bodywork session on the Sunday or following week - at a time that suits you
I’m really in awe of this place that I’m lucky enough to call home : it takes my breath away on the daily. It feels like such a lovely thing to be able to share this experience with you. The energy of the sea and the land here is very big and calming, it feels to me like it gives a sense of connecting with something much bigger, beyond ourselves, with the salt and the breeze and the beauty blowing out the cobwebs and anything which feels stagnant. It’s my aim for these weekends to be an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, with a sense of health, and provide a transformation to take into your life going forward.
I can recommend places to stay which are a short walk from our retreat space for the Friday and / or Saturday night, with options from hotels to airbnb to camping. Please ask me about this if of interest.
This will be both a small group experience, with a one to one session included.
What's included (no previous experience needed for any of the practices) :
Somatic movement for releasing held stress, and health for your fascia, muscles, and joints. Discover how when you free your fascia, and your body, your mind feels more free, too.
Introduction to Somatic Experiencing practice to support nervous system health and a more positive relationship with stress
Natural breath awareness and freeing breathing
How to connect with the sun and night time (light and dark) for energy and nervous system health
A key practice, which we’ll explore together, of connecting with nature through your senses, for building nervous system capacity
Cold plunging (could be just your feet, or a deeper plunge!)
Connecting and coregulating with the full moon in July, and the new moon in October
Nourishing, healing and flavoursome lunch on Saturday, drinks, tea and snacks on all days.
A walk around to connect with the land and sea : in a beautiful garden, and the beach
The weekend schedule :
Friday evening, 5pm - 7pm : grounding and arriving, somatic movement practice and moon meditation
Learn easeful, simple movements to release tight muscles, stress and tension, and bring more of a sense of balance and ease to your posture and movements.
Saturday 11am - 7pm : Indoor movement practices, lunch, outdoor time at nearby Compton Acres and Canford Cliffs beach, gentle walking and sensory exercises to help restore more health to your nervous system.
Sunday or the following week : a 1:1 somatic bodywork session, at a time that suits you, to help integrate after the weekend together, and help you bring what we explored into your life, going forward. The session can be either in-person, or by Zoom if that works better for you.
This is a non-residential retreat :
if you’re local, you can stay at home and attend the sessions over the three days in Canford Cliffs, and if you’re travelling from outside the area I’m happy to provide recommended options for nearby hotels, airbnb and camping. If you’re travelling in from outside the area, ask me for recommendations.
