Hi, I'm Charlotte, a somatic therapist and educator with over 15 years’ of experience, based in Poole, on the South Coast of the UK. I work both in-person in Dorset & London, and internationally, online.

My work focuses on a combination of both body-first (somatic) and mind-first approaches to help recover from the harmful impact of stress, shock and trauma on the body and mind. I've been working with individuals and groups with a somatic approach since 2008. I'm a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Clinical Massage Therapist, and teacher of yoga, qigong and Living Somatic Movement—a methodology based on the Hanna Somatic and Feldrenkrais lineage of movement.

Over the last 15 years, I've been fortunate to work in various settings. These include a multi-disciplinary health clinic in London where I worked alongside physiotherapists and osteopaths, focused on rehabilitation from injuries and health challenges, as well as leading yoga studios like Triyoga and the Life Centre. I serve as a guest tutor on Yoga Alliance teacher trainings, offering specialist teaching on the nervous system and trauma. I've worked directly with corporate clients including Etsy and Ted Baker, provided patient support sessions for PLANETS cancer charity, and supported thousands of clients in private practice. Throughout my career, I've also hosted numerous retreats, workshops and classes, both online and in-person.

Currently, I focus on my private practice, offering one-to-one work with clients in Canford Cliffs, Dorset, in London, and internationally via Zoom. You can learn more about how we might work together though the Somatic Experiencing, Massage Therapy and Group Classes pages.

Despite all of the training, I believe that one of my most important trainings has been in my own therapy and healing over a number of years, and exploring ways of feeling better through health challenges and suffering. Somatic Experiencing and movement practices have been at the center of my own recovery from eating disorders, addiction, and chronic anxiety, and have helped me to find a steady ground and a much more easeful way of existing.

One of the most important things that I've learned along the way is that the health of our bodies, minds, energy and emotions is intricately linked. Research is increasingly demonstrating the effectiveness of body-mind (somatic) therapies in supporting overall health and recovery from various physical and emotional challenges.

As a practitioner, my key values include: making my work as simple and relatable as possible; offering warmth, empathy and compassion; and bringing an unshaming approach.
